AnticaCuvée wins the Oscar of Wine Bibenda
On May 25 in Rome, at Hotel Cavalieri, our Grappa Nonino Riserva AnticaCuvée® Aged 5 Years was awarded the Oscar – Special Prize of the Bibenda Jury – with a memory to our father Benito.
AnticaCuvée was born in 2003 under the guidance of Benito Nonino, extraordinary master distiller and true “maître de chais.” We wanted to make this blend of Monovitigno® Grappas with several years of aging, to offer connoisseurs the noblest notes that only time can give.
The youngest grappa is 5 years old, the oldest as many as 20: the result is a complex, elegant Riserva with soft notes of vanilla and pastry, hints of candied fruit, spicy accents of tobacco, and a delicate note of the toasting of the barrique woods that makes it unmistakable. Natural color, without color additives.
Fortunately, Dad’s nose runs “in the family,” and we three sisters are proud and grateful to be able to pass on his knowledge. Every time we open our aging cellars under seal, we rediscover the exact formula of his “AnticaCuvée.”
Let’s toast our dad, Bibenda, and all of you who love the good and authentic taste of Nonino Family recipes!
